Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the university won 10 medals during its students’ participation in the Sports Forum for Students with Disabilities of Cairo and Delta Universities, organized by Benha University from August 31 to September 3, with the participation of 11 universities. The event was held under the supervision of Dr. Nasser Abdel-Bary, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased announced that Menoufia University won 10 medals in this forum: 4 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze. He affirmed that student activities help boost students’ confidence in themselves, their abilities, and their potential, while providing opportunities to channel their energy positively. He congratulated the winning teams and the organizers of the championship.
He also stressed the university’s keenness to provide all forms of support for students with disabilities to ensure their active participation in all student activities, while making sure they are included in various fields. He pointed out that they have consistently achieved advanced positions in sports events. He added that this participation comes in light of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to care for people of determination, extending congratulations to the winning and participating students.
Dr. Nasser Abdel-Bary also emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting and caring for people with disabilities, integrating them into the university community, and praised the outstanding performance of the university’s team and the sportsmanship among participating universities.
The Menoufia University delegation included 16 students (10 male + 6 female), supervised by Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, Director of the General Administration of Student Welfare, Captain Yasser Gamal, Director of Sports Activities, Captain Moataz Sadiq, Sports Activities Supervisor, with the presence of Dr. Ahmed Saher, Director of the Disability Services Center, and Dr. Atiyat Mohamed, Deputy Director.
The students were also accompanied by Captain Mahmoud Hafez (representing the Director of Sports Activities and in charge of students with disabilities), Captain Mostafa Ezz El-Rigal (student supervisor), Captain Mahmoud Darwish (student supervisor), Soha El-Rokbawy (female students’ supervisor), and Wafaa Abu Gabal (sign language interpreter for the deaf and mute).
