The faculty was established in 1976 after presidential decision number 1142 in 1976 that
Menoufia University adds a faculty of medicine located in Shebien El-Kom city.
Study started first in the clinical stage "4th class" on Saturday 27th October, 1984 at the
National Institute of Liver building.
The number of faculty students when established "1st Class"• was 54 students
graduated in 1987.
In 1986, study moved to the faculty own buildings and associated hospitals.
The total number of graduates from 1987 till 2006 is 3414
The total number of graduates awarded the diploma degree from the faculty from 1987 till
now is 972
The total number of graduates awarded the M.SC degree from the faculty from 1987 till
now is 878
The total number of graduates awarded the M.D degree from the faculty from 1987 till
now is 413
