Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, congratulated Prof. Tarek Ibrahim, Professor of Surgery and Supervisor of the Liver Transplant Unit at the National Liver Institute, on his election as President of the Egyptian Surgeons Association. He also congratulated the new board members: Dr. Atef Abdel-Ghani, who was elected as Secretary-General; Dr. Tharwat Mohamed Ali, who was elected as Vice-President of the Association; and Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Raouf, who was elected as Treasurer. He wished everyone success in carrying out their duties, continuing to contribute to and serve the medical community, and strengthening cooperation among Egyptian surgeons to achieve tangible progress in the activities of the Association, which is one of the most prominent medical institutions in Egypt.
The University President expressed his happiness at the selection of Prof. Tarek Ibrahim from Menoufia University, which he considers an achievement for the University and its medical education system. He also commended Dr. Tarek Ibrahim's distinguished efforts in the field of liver and digestive system surgery and his role in developing the Liver Transplant Unit at the Institute. He also commended the advanced level of the Liver Transplant Unit and the National Liver Institute in general, which recently received accreditation from the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Supervision, making it the first specialized healthcare facility affiliated with the University to receive this accreditation.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased also praised the pioneering role of the Egyptian Society of Surgeons and its continuous efforts to strengthen its position as a surgical reference in the Middle East by expanding the scope of research and exchanging expertise with international societies. He noted that the Egyptian Society of Surgeons (ESS), since its founding, has been one of the most prominent medical institutions in Egypt. It aims to promote scientific and professional development in the field of surgery in various specialties, providing support to surgeons through educational and research programs, fostering cooperation between local and international experts, and playing a pivotal role in developing surgical skills and setting scientific and practical standards for practicing the profession.
The university president appreciated the efforts of the late Dr. Abdel-Moaty Hussein, former president of the Egyptian Surgeons Association, for his significant contributions during his tenure as president of the association. May God have mercy on him.
