Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, received a high-level delegation from Ankara University headed by Prof. Necdet Ünüvar, President of the university, to discuss avenues of joint cooperation in academic, research, and technological fields, as well as expanding international partnerships between both sides. The meeting was attended by Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Ghada Ali Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Mostafa Shehata, International Relations Coordinator at the University; and Prof. Reda Abdel Ghaffar, member of the International Relations Office.
The Ankara University delegation included Dr. Oguz Gungor, Director of the International Relations Office at Ankara University; Dr. Hatice Bakal Oglu, Vice Rector of the University; Dr. Ibrahim Aslan, Turkish Educational Attaché in Cairo; Dr. Ümit Artuç; and Ms. Huda Mubarak, Executive Secretary at the Office of the Turkish Educational Attaché in Cairo.
Prof. El-Kased welcomed the delegation, emphasizing the depth of historical relations between Egypt and Türkiye and the strong cultural and civilizational ties between both peoples. He noted that the visit represents an important step toward building effective academic and research partnerships that contribute to enhancing scientific cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two universities.
He affirmed that Menoufia University places great importance on strengthening international cooperation and opening up to distinguished regional and global universities, in a way that supports the development of education and scientific research. This also provides broader opportunities for student and faculty exchange and the implementation of joint research projects that serve sustainable development goals and keep pace with global changes in education and innovation.
Prof. El-Kased added that cooperation with major international universities is a key pillar in Menoufia University’s strategy, especially in light of its notable progress in international rankings and academic accreditation. He stressed the University’s commitment to providing a modern educational and research environment that prepares competitive graduates at both regional and international levels.
He also highlighted the main areas of excellence at Menoufia University, including its advanced academic and research capabilities, particularly in the medical and engineering sectors, in addition to its significant progress in scientific research and global rankings. He emphasized the University’s commitment to expanding its international network to enhance its academic and research standing.
The President further noted that this visit coincides with Menoufia University’s celebration of its Golden Jubilee, marking fifty years since its establishment—a milestone reflecting its continuous development and achievements across academic, research, and medical fields. He affirmed that the University seeks during this stage to strengthen its internationalization efforts and openness to global educational institutions in line with its growing status and future ambitions.
For his part, Prof. Necdet Ünüvar, President of Ankara University, expressed his pleasure at visiting Menoufia University, noting that Egypt is a pivotal country for Türkiye and that strong cultural, humanitarian, and religious ties exist between the two peoples, in addition to the positive relations between the leaderships of both countries. He stated that the visit aims to support academic and scientific relations and enhance joint cooperation between the two universities.
He presented an overview of Ankara University, including its faculties, institutes, research centers, and educational and research farms, expressing his aspiration to sign effective cooperation protocols with Menoufia University in various scientific and research fields, contributing to knowledge exchange and supporting students and researchers from both sides.
